About Us
History
The Silicon Valley Democratic Club (formerly Moorpark
Democratic Club) is a fusing of exceptional Democratic
volunteers from the 2004 Campaign and the 2008
Campaign, which we all participated in an historical
campaign and election of President, Barack Obama.
During the 2008 campaign, the Club successfully smashed
all previous Santa Clara County Campaign records from
donations to new Voter Registrations. The Club
successfully surpassed our goal of registering 5,000 new
voters.
The Club has worked on several first-time candidate
campaigns, for both local and statewide offices, such as
San Jose City Councilmembers Rose Herrera and Ash
Kalra and State Assemblymembers Jim Beall and Paul
Fong.
The Club's goal is to continue the "Call to Action", as
stated by President Obama during his 2009 Nobel Prize
award acceptance speech . This goal will be accomplished
by working closely with Local and State Democratic offices
and other Democratic Clubs.
